Oli otya, Dear girls and boys
Time has come to say good bye to all of you. We have spent almost 10 months here in Kalangala at the center of interest together with all of you. It was a good and interesting time here with you girls and boys. A big thanks to all of you who worked with me in the workshop, or with Caroline in the sewing room or in the garden and helped fetching water.
Even if sometimes things were difficult or we had communication problems, it was a good time and i enjoyed to be with you girls and boys, the Matrons, the Teachers, Watchman Joseph, Mathias, the Cooks and our Director, and her husband Lameka.
Thank you to Grandmother Margreth, she was always here to support us, giving tips, and helped to find solutions, for all kinds of problems during our stay here at the center of interest.
I say goodbye to all guardians the Shopkeepers in Kalangala City Trading Center and all the People I met on the way to Kalisizo, or on one of our walks to the bush.
Goodbye to all of the children here in Kalangala, who called me by my name when i passed by their homes.
It was a pleasure for us to stay with you, and having fun from time to time. Sorry that i wasn‘t able to learn luganda during my stay here in Kalangala. Next time this is the first thing I do.
Joseph gets extra thanks, because he let us feel safe behind the walls of our house during night time. Thanks.
We will never forget you because we loved all of you to much. And that makes it even more difficult to leave you here and go home just like this.
But at home there are my children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and my mother they all can‘t wait to see me (us) again. And I also love to see them again.
So my children here in Kalangala, please work hard to finish your school-time with good results, so you are able to find jobs and have a better life in the future time.
Don‘t forget you are the ones, to make changes in Uganda in future time. Always try to do your best, not only for you, also have a heart for others.
You can do it if you really want, but you must try, try and try and never give up even if it‘s hard.
I love your country.
